Each year, automakers introduce a flurry of all-new vehicles; they are also updating and redesigning existing models with better frequency than the older edition.

Refreshed Acura TL

For 2012, it gets six-speed automatic transmission, revised front-end styling, and enhanced navigation system for improved efficiency and quieter freeway ride.

The base model gets a 28-hp 3.5-L V6 engine, while TL SH-AWD features 3.7-L V6 engine and estimated fuel economy of 18/25/21 mpg.

Price Range: $35,600-$39,200

New Audi A7

It is based on the refreshed A6 sedan; it has strong and efficient engine along with more cargo versatility and distinctive styling than a regular sedan.

The all-wheel drive A7 is equipped with a 3.0-L V6 engine that churns out 310hp, and 325 lb-ft of torque, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. It is capable of accelerating to the 0-60mph mark in 5.4 seconds and achieves a mileage of 18/28/22mpg.

Price: $59,250

New BMW ActiveHybrid 5

The all-new ActiveHybrid 5 is a combination of a 3.0-L turbocharged I-6 engine and 40kW of electric motor. Like ActiveHybrid 7, it will place the battery pack in the trunk area; with the introduction of intelligent mild hybrid system, the fuel economy is expected to be 35mpg in city, and 41 mpg on highways.

Price: £46,500

New Buick Verano

The all-new entry level luxury sedan gets a 2.4-L 4-cylinder engine that generates 180hp, and 171 lb-ft of torque, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with manual shift control.

Its EPA fuel economy is 21 mpg in city, and 31 mpg on highways, which is just about average in its class.

New Chevy Camaro ZL1

Rather than the introduction of ZL1 trim, the new Camaro receives number of refreshments, including rear view camera, enhanced V6 engine, and revised sport suspension.

The LS and LT trims get 323hp 3.6-L V6 and SS features 400hp 6.2-L V8 engine, while the all-new ZL1 gets 580hp supercharged V8 engine. The new 2012 Camaro ZL1 is the best choice, but it’s priced almost double than the base LS trim.

New Ford Focus Electric

The new Focus EV will offer a mpg equivalent competitive with other electric cars on the market and it comes with a suite of enhanced driver information technology that will help you better manage the fuel consumption, reaching the most miles out of every battery charge.

Redesigned Honda Civic

It has received mild styling updates, more power and improved gas mileage for the Si trim. The compact Civic car gets a larger 1.5-L gasoline engine, mated to a CVT for achieving highway mileage of 44mpg.

Price Range: $16,000-$26,000

New Hyundai Veloster

The all-new Veloster is a four-passenger 3-door hatchback; it is powered by a 138hp 1.6-L I-4 engine that accelerates to 60mph mark in 8 seconds and fuel economy is estimated to be 29/40/32mpg.

2012 Mercedes C Class

For 2012, it gets new coupe model with the same configuration as the sedan version. It gets a more powerful and fuel efficient V6 engine in C350 and turbocharged 4-cylinder engine in C250, while C63 gets automated manual as other AMG models.

2012 Toyota Prius V

Based on the standard Prius, the all-new wagon gets 1.8-L 4-cylinder engine and pair of electric motor and CVT with a combined output of 134hp and 153 lb-ft of torque; estimated EPA-fuel economy is a class-leading 44/40/42 mpg.

Price Range: $26,500-$30,000

2012 VW Golf R

Based on the standard Golf platform, the all-new R edition comes with quicker acceleration, more power, and sharp handling.
